Massimo Bonanni looks for parts to repair a motorbike for a client in his shop, Motofficina, in Trastevere outside of Rome, Italy on Monday, June 9.

Motofficina is a motorcycle shop located right next to my hotel that I visited. Massimo Bonanni, the owner, used his translation app to communicate with me. Bonanni shared that his shop was started by his father in 1951, and he and his brother helped with the shop as they grew up.

Bonanni is in the shop every weekday from Monday to Friday. Bonanni’s shop is cluttered with his tools, motorbike keys, and ladders hanging from the wall. There were some photos of some Italian motorcyclists, motorcycles, and other memorabilia on display in his shop. It was tight with many motorcycles taking up the space, and some were disassembled.
Bonnani will spend most of the time repairing motorcyles for his customers and interacting with them when they pick it up. Bonnani sometimes does some test drives around the block to make sure they are operational.
